Preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 in order for a project to be eligible to receive federal funding. An EIS is a decision making document that describes:
The EIS provides decision makers with key information on the alternatives under consideration with regard to their potential impacts to the built, natural, and social environments that may occur within the project study area. The Denver Union Station Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) was prepared by the Regional Transportation District (RTD), in cooperation with the City and County of Denver (CCD), the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) was the lead federal agency for this project. Final Environmental Impact Statement Cover Page Appendices Appendices Table of Contents |
