Changes to Parking
in Front of
Denver Union Station
Motorists are not able to park at Denver Union Station.
A fence has been installed to designate the construction area work zone.
Motorists still have access to the Ice House parking garage and the Rodizio Grill parking area throughout construction.

Free Guided Tours of the Denver Union Station Project Offered this SummerThe guided tour will include information on the storied history of Union Station from the late 1800s to the present day. You will learn about the early station buildings and famous travelers who visited Denver by train, hear about the new Union Station Neighborhood and its transformation of downtown and witness construction of the largest transportation redevelopment project in North America first hand.
Participation is limited to 35 people per tour.

Construction Update Spring 2012
Second half of the Regional Bus Facility (Wewatta St. to the West side of the DUS building) Crews have completed the base slab for the underground bus facility. Walls and columns are nearly complete. Column caps will be poured in preparation for the precast beams that will be placed this month. The backfilling of the walls also will be starting.

What will Union Station look like?
As the hub of RTD’s FasTracks program, the redevelopment of Denver Union Station is a crucial component of one of the largest transportation projects in North America. The multimodal hub will knit many different transportation modes and six new public plazas in one place with convenient, attractive and engaging pedestrian and bicycle connections.
The Historic Station, the symbol of the project and heart and soul of the transit district, will be rehabilitated to its historic prominence. Upon completion, Denver Union Station will be an exciting destination and a major transportation gateway to the region.

Amtrak Now at Temporary Station Amtrak has temporarily relocated from the historic Denver Union Station to 1800 21st St., at the intersection of The temporary station is completely accessible to passengers with disabilities, offers Quik-Trak self-serve ticketing kiosks, Amtrak passengers are encouraged to plan to be picked up and dropped off at the temporary location. Approximately 15 short-term parking spaces are available at the lot on the east side of the station for passenger pick-up and drop-off. The temporary station is served by a RTD bus stop just steps from the door. The move is necessary to accommodate construction of the new commuter rail station at Denver Union Station that will serve Amtrak and the East, Gold, North Metro and Northwest Rail commuter rail lines. When improvements are complete, Denver Union Station will be the centerpiece of the Regional Transportation District's FasTracks transit expansion program and will serve as a multimodal hub for the region. Amtrak will return to Union Station in the spring of 2014. In addition to the eight-track Amtrak and RTD commuter rail station, the $484 million Denver Union Station redevelopment project includes a 22-bay regional bus facility, new light rail station for current and future light rail lines, extension of the 16th Street Mall Shuttle and several public plazas to integrate transit services with adjacent neighborhoods. Amtrak operates two trains daily through Denver - the westbound California Zephyr departing at 8:05 a.m. and the eastbound California Zephyr departing at 7:10 p.m. The California Zephyr runs between Chicago and Emeryville, coursing through the plains of Nebraska to Denver, across the Rockies to Salt Lake City, and then through Reno and the Sierras to Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay.
